Ponce Inlet is a cozy small town at the southern tip of the barrier island that includes Daytona Beach. It is located in Volusia County, Fla., and has a land area of 4.3 square miles and a population of 2,513 residents. With a median household income of $52,122 and a median age of residents of 56.9 years, the city is an extremely popular place to have a summer home and to retire. It has great facilities for both relaxation as well as maintaining an active lifestyle. You can always just sit back and enjoy the beauty around you or you can go walking or jogging on the beach. There are many water sports available, such as scuba diving, canoeing, fishing and parasailing. Golf and horseback riding are also popular as are nature tours and canoe adventures. The main attraction in the town is a 175-foot, red brick lighthouse, which visitors can climb to see a stunning panoramic view of the Daytona Beach area and watch the sunset.

In 2005, there were 115,904,641 homes in Ponce Inlet, 146,496,014 of which were occupied and 10,424,540 of which were vacant. The median house value was $156,100 in Daytona Beach, but Ponce Inlet water-view homes are more expensive. The range for waterfront property begins at $230,000 for a 1,436-square-foot home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The price can increase to as high as 3.9 million for a 5,315-square-foot mansion with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a marble foyer and porcelain tile. The average Ponce Inlet water-view home will cost around $750,000 and have between two and three bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
